Overview

Did you know that Mexico City, Mexico, and Buenos Aires, Argentina are two Latin American cities that are among the top 15 largest cities in the world?¹ The Spanish-speaking world is home to many large cities with diverse populations and many fascinating sites to see. For the next two days, we want you to pretend you are going to visit one of these cities. Before you visit, though, you need to learn about the city and figure out what things you want to see or do in the city. Today, you are going to start by researching a city in Latin America or Spain, gathering the information you need for tomorrow's assignment, a PowerPoint presentation. First, start by selecting a city from the following list. Then, follow the directions below.

• This assignment should be completed in English.
• You need two academic sources for your research. A good starting source would be the Encyclopedia Britannica, found here. Do not use Wikipedia -- this is not an academic source!
• This portion of the assignment will be graded for completion, but your teacher may have important feedback for you to incorporate in your final paper. It is suggested that you wait until your teacher grades this assignment before moving on to the next assignment.
